For this project I wanted to catch myself off guard; I didn’t want to know that I was taking a picture of myself. To me the worst part of a Selfie is the fact that the viewer knows that the person taking the picture was consciously taking a picture of themselves and thereby looking or acting in a way for that photo. To avoid that I extended my selfie into a video where every millisecond weather flattering or unflattering, vain or not, could be presented.
I took this video while I was riding through people and moving cars so that I would be forced to concentrate on my surroundings. I was able to bring out the flaws in a smartphone camera by showing distortion in light and movement.
